Copper Oxide Flake (Cupric Oxide, CAS No.1317-38-0, Formula CuO) is black flake-shaped solid. It is produced by high-temperature oxidation of copper sheet. The main composition is cupric oxide, with a small amount of cuprous oxide and trace metallic copper. Total Copper ≥87%.
It serves as the key raw material for exothermic welding (thermite welding). When blended with aluminum powder, redox reaction occurs to generate high-temperature molten copper. Widely applied in power grounding, lightning protection, railway and telecommunication earthing projects, it creates permanent molecular bonding of copper conductors. The welded joint features stable low resistance and excellent corrosion resistance to ensure reliable grounding performance.
